Motoring Offences

Many people await the arrival of a summons with dread. We view them as challenges and a summons does not necessarily mean points on your licence or a ban.

FOR INSTANCE:-
If you already have 9 points on your licence and you are caught by a speed camera (a further 3 points) this would make 12 points would this equal an automatic ban?:-
NOT NECESSARILY.

If you have been breathalysed and apparently over the limit does this equal an automatic ban?:-
NOT NECESSARILY.

Have you been involved in an accident and the police say you were driving without due care and attention, does that mean they are automatically right and you are wrong and points will follow or even worse a ban?:-
NOT NECESSARILY.

Had a minor bump that you didn’t even know had happened until you get a knock on your door, does this means you are guilty of careless driving, failing to stop after an accident and failing to report it?:-
NOT NECESSARILY.

You have driven your employers car and he wasn’t insured, does that mean that you are automatically guilty and there will be points on your licence?:-
NOT NECESSARILY.
