Police Stations

NOT A LOT OF PEOPLE KNOW THIS:
-

Arriving at a police station, whether arrested and brought by the police, or whether attending voluntarily by arrangement, can be a daunting and often frightening experience.

EVERYONE who is suspected of an offence is entitled to the services of a solicitor ABSOLUTELY FREE – there is no means test, no forms to sign THIS IS YOUR RIGHT.

Jones Knowles Warburton is a highly specialised criminal law practice – we have six solicitors and two police station agents who can attend a police station or give advice over the telephone. There is someone on call 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year.

DON’T BE PUT OFF:-
The most commonly asked question at a police station is “Do I need a solicitor?” – You bet you do! We can usually respond by telephone within 15 minutes (it may be slightly later at weekends or Bank Holidays) and, if appropriate attend the police station within 45 minutes. Quite often you can be reassured and advised over the telephone particularly if you are going to be interviewed under caution.

SHOULD YOU BOTHER US if you think the matter is trivial?:-
Yes – it may not be as trivial as you think, but if it is we can put your mind at rest.
People are now being put in Court after charge much quicker than before – you can be in a police station on Monday morning and bailed to attend Court on the Wednesday. There may not be time to come into the office.

HELP US TO HELP YOU:-
If we know about your problem at an early stage we can start to work on it early.
